There is a bus stop in approx. 300 meters distance from the house, public bus service to the city several times per day. Hourly suburban busses connect on to Iraklion (89 kms) and Hania (62 kms), during the season every 30 minutes. Prines: View from Atsipopoulo.

North front Villa Meli was built in 2005 on an areal of more than 4,000 square meters of size, which is covered by old olive and carob trees. This region was formerly known as "the bee's garden" which gave the villa it's name: The Greek word "meli" means "honey".
Iraklion airport is 97 kms away, Hania airport 67 kms. Due to the winding character of the motor highway, transfer durations from and to the airports must not be underestimated.

On the ground floor of the 200 square meters villa there are a living-room with an open fireplace, a bedroom, a bathroom with shower and WC, and a guests' WC. Three more bedrooms are located on the top floor, and there are another three bathrooms one of which has a bath-tub and WC, while the two others have showers and WCs.

In the gardens there are lawns, local ornamental plants, lemon-, orange- and other fruit trees (harvesting permitted!), indigenous herbs, and unique views of neighbouring gardens and villages, of the Rethymnon Bay including the peninsula of Akrotiri, and of the White Mountains.

A carport for 2 cars is located in the basement. From here, one has access to the tiled part of the cellar which gives room for a washing machine and an ironing-compartment with iron and board. A barbecue is installed on the breakfast terrace.

Two of the bedrooms on the top floor have French beds. The third upstairs bedroom as well as the downstairs bedroom have two single beds each which on demand can be comined as double beds. These two bedrooms have also room for one additional single bed each. Fitted wardrobes, chests of drawers and TV outlets exist in each bedroom.In the living-room there are a sofa-corner, a satellite TV set, a radio with CD player and double cassette deck, and a DVD player. Furthermore there is a hall-stand on the ground floor. Cleaning once per week, on demand twice. Sheets, towels and pool towels are available. Water and electricity are included. A safe deposit box is also available.

The kitchen is equipped with any essential pots and pans, plates and dishes, forks, knifes and spoons for 12 persons. Furthermore it has a large combined refrigerator and freezer, an electric range with Ceran field and oven, an extractor fan, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, a toaster, a coffee maker and an electric kettle.

The nearest LIDL market with a rich choice of budget imported foodstuffs is located between Atsipopoulo and Rethymnon by the motor highway (5 kms).

from Vrisses via Imbros to Hora Sfakion will show most scenic landscape. High above the exit of the Imbros gorge, endless serpentine bends present always changing views of the Libyan Sea and the South Coast.

When following the coastal road towards East, you can have a tour of the Venetian fortress at Frangokastello before continuing to the dream beaches of Plakias. In the late afternoon you can then take the road through the impressive Kourtaliotiko gorge to the North Coast and back to Prines.

Elafonissi at the island's south-western tip is a must. Red coral-banks give a pink colour to the fine sand, and there is nothing than the blue sea around.
